Okay when using a gamepad button combo to exit an Emu would some times cause GameEx to crash...this was largely seen on the WinXP box, even after a fresh install (OS\.Net\GameEx\Emu's).

On the MCE box which hasn't been pounded on much I've experienced, nearly the same thing...Mame would exit but I wouldn't return to GameEx...black screen and system hang, requiring a hard reboot.

Note on the WinXP box I could ALT+TAB to the error box and close things out, or use the Task Manager to kill process's.

This is not a constant issue...its goes in streaks and not one directly after another. This appears to happen more often when closing and relaunching the same Emu.

I have not seen a way to consistently reproduce it...its largely hit or miss...and as I haven't seen others grumble about it...seems to be a corner case of only me thus far...tho I'm also unsure of how many people make use of the Advanced Config...I only just recently started to toy with it.

Noligic,

I have had really good luck doing this. For mame I use the UI cancel options in Mames configuration to exit back to gameex.

With 99% of my emus I use gameex advance config to simulate an ALT+F4 on mutiple key press. Are you doing the same thing?

Brian,

Yes this is what I'm doing as well. Generally it works and works well...but there are times when things fail.

I haven't noticed the Emu's still running, so GameEx is closing them...it just seems to run into issues of its own some how.

What exactly is the error displayed? Would be helpful.

Just about all erros are trapped in GameEx. An error like that is occuring outside of the GameEx code. I don't think there is anything I can do about it, but post your log.

Okay beat the hell out of it...and I did get the error again...but it seemed like it was harder to trigger.

This was with build 7.71

That's a shame, there's really nothing else I can do that I can see. Everything is as solid as it can be.

It could just be some kind of conflict with a particular emulator? If so try a newer or different version etc.

I have nothing else to add to this as of now, but let me know if you discover anything.

You can try this GameEx.exe which waits a bit longer before forcibly closing the emulator.

Other than this I have nothing.

Nope didn't do the trick...about the same difficulty triggering the error as prior.

I'll try to beat it up on the MCE box since it has fewer things running in the background (apps, services,...)

Thanks for the effort tho.

It says in this version that snaps can alternate to another artwork image.

Now I know that you can have for a game preview a video followed by a box cover. They switch. Is there any way to add multiple .png or .jpg pictures to a game preview and have them alternate over time.

For example, for the game Popeye, I would like to have multiple snaps alternate in the game preview so that I can have a picture of each of the levels in the game preview in GameEx.

I don't believe there is any way to do that currently. That is, unless you create a video slide show AVI file and use that in place of your AVI previews... Good feature request though.
