After GoodMerging all my rom sets all my box scans and snaps didn't match the games as they had () and what not after the game names

I didn't like using the option in GameEx to find a close match as it seemed to be trying to match some games and picking the wrong image even though the correctly named image was in the directory, mario and mario kart where the first I'd noticed this happening

I searched for a tool to rename all the files and remove bracketed text but I couldn't find 1 so I decided to create 1 myself and I thought some of you might also find it useful...

It requires .net 2.0 but that shouldn't be a problem as GameEx uses it too

I've been using this for a month now without any problems but if you choose to use it and it messes your pc up then thats your problem :)

Basically a file called "Mario Bros. (U) [T+Chi_MS emumax]" will become "Mario Bros."

If "Overwrite Existing Files" is checked then say you have for example in the NES rom set you have 4 files called:

"Mickey Mouse (J) [f1]"

"Mickey Mouse (J) [f2]"

"Mickey Mouse (J) [p1]"

"Mickey Mouse (J)"

then you will be left with just 1 file called "Mickey Mouse" the image will be whichever file is last aplhabetically, this shouldn't be a problem as generally the images for each version should be the same

A batch file called !undorename.bat is created in the input directory so you should be able to reverse the changes though this won't bring back any files that have bee replaced so I recommend making a backup of your directory
