For all you theme creators out there, custom layouts are now implemented for emulators. Sorry it took me a while to do this. Have fun, lets see what you can do!

Should fix any outstanding issues with updating the MAME list

Snap images/ICONS are now supported for custom MAME lists

Includes Ben's LCD Plugin 1.68.Beta. Read more about it on the forums.

Minor updates to the setup wizard and theme editor. Thanks again to Ben Baker for his continued hard work and support

Wow...update after update. Thanks! Tomorrow I get to try out MAME .112, my new .112 roms, and GameEx 7.57. Sweet.

What exactly is this?

If you have custom mame lists setup, as available in last version:-. GameEx will look in the theme\logos folder for an image matching a custom mame folder by name, and if it finds one will display it in GameEx. The same way it does with everything else.

I can't duplicate this, can you give a bit more detail about when it happens and exactly what your doing?

It shouldnt produce a hard error like that anyhow, have you tried a reboot?

Ok this is a little weird. I did a reboot and started GameEx. Clicked Multimedia then pictures and everything worked fine. I then went straight to exit GameEx and the error message came up. So I started GameEx. Clicked Multimedia then pictures. Then it kicks me out with the error message everytime. Only thing different I did was install Photo Shop 2 on this HD with GameEx.

The changes made that have a remote chance of affecting this where in version 7.53 released a week ago. If there is an error it should be controlled and you should see the GameEx log. So its a little odd.

I upgraded from your previous version. This is my log file now. Now when I click on pictures it minimizes gameex when the error message. I can then click on GameEx and have it maximize again. It will not display any snaps or videos after recovering from this error. Any chance I can get the previous version to debug?

Still kicking me out of GameEx with that error. As soon as I click on pictures the menu comes up for a split sec. then it kicks me out. doesn't seem to affect any other menu option. I even unisnstalled Photoshop just incase.

Very odd. Can you try removing your picture paths, and see if it allows you to enter the menu.

If I remove my pictures directory it works and doesnt kick me out. Only down side is I cant view my pictures. Very odd.

Thanks. Can you experiment a little with different paths. See if you can get anything to work?

I've tried several different paths. All do exactly the same thing. Minimizes GameEx with the error. Is there maybe a windows setting or service, that I may have turned off preventing this from working in GameEx?

I've enabled all windows xp services that default to on. No luck. I did find out that if I set the path to a CD/DVD drive it works fine. Just craps out on my HD.

Ok I fixed it. I can't believe how much troubleshooting it took to track down the GameEx setting that cause this error. This is how I solved this issue. I went into Setup Wizard. Selected "tweaks & performance". Changed the option "Creat Image/Video on thread" from "yes create on thread" to "No thread". This little option was causing all this headache. Is this a problem on my end or what? Either way its fixed. Thanks for the help Tom.
