I can't get the trackball or spinner recognized inside mame game when using gameEx. I have mouse selected in options. When pressing 'tab' to go to analog controls when I move mouse I can't change the x and y properties. I have no other problems in the other front end programs. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Hi Toxiciti I'm sorry noone has been able to post help with your problem. When you mean pressing 'tab' do you mean in Mame? I'm not sure how the Mame config could be different from FE to FE. Or perhaps you need to explain what you mean x and y properties to me a bit more.

Yes, inside mame. When you press 'tab' key you can set assign buttons and mouse controls. In any other FE whilst playing a game I can hit 'tab' and change the mouse controls - mouse 1 and mouse 2 both x and y axis. With gameEX I have no mouse support at all in a game. Can't even assign mouse in mame. I can hardly believe I'm the only one that can use trackball/spinner with GameEx. Thats why unfortunately I have been using Mala instead. Not that its a bad FE but I registered gameex because I really like it but unfortunately I can't use it.

Hi. This sounds strange. When i read your post i was a bit apprehensive because although i've had a Happ 3" Highball Trackball for months now i couldn't try it because i had a ps2/usb kit for it on backorder. It arrived today and i've just set it up. It seems to work fine in xp and in GameEX (the frontend itself). I've tried it in MAME (MAME32) and it seems to work as well although the sensitivity needs adjusting and i don't know to adjust it as there seems to be a lot of parameters in MAME itself for this mouse/trackball thing. Does your trackball/mouse work in windows and GameEX itself ?

iano.

I have never come across this problem within Windows, I have used Optipac and also im currently using the Happ 3" USB/PS2 trackball and works within MAME32, and GAMEEX, I would have thought if the trackball/mouse works within windows enviroment, then should work within GameEx, and you need to set the mouse for input within MAME32, well at least that is what I did, DOS is another story and glad I moved away for it
