Hi guys - I have GameEx AE and various emulators installed on a PC that I think is in its final days, and so I want to move my install to a new PC.

The new PC is clean and setup with Win11 - what's the best way to move my install across without doing the full GameEx download and setup again?  From memory it's not as simple as copying all the files - GameEx won't run if I just do that?  I'm happy to download the latest GameEx version, but can I copy my current config without doing it all again?

Thanks

Many ways to go about it. You could copy your GameEx folder from the old PC to the new one and it install GameEx "over the top" of it. This will register it within Windows. You would have to have everything setup the same for media, roms, emulators, etc.

It should. I always caution to make a backup of your GameEx.ini file if you have any uncertainty. Given the dual nature of GameEx with Arcade Edition, be sure to search for both copies!

Since you are making a copy to port over to your new system, then that is likely covered.
