Games Not Loading From Custom Lists

Good day,

 

I am new to GameEx. I have it running MAME fine and I am using the latest version of MAME and the ROMs. The games load and play when I select them from the MAME menu. I have created a few custom lists and the titles show up in my lists. When I select the games, it shows me the controls screen and when I hit enter, it kicks me back to the game list.

 

This is how I created the lists and yes, I did save the txt files as .ini.

RootFolderIcon = cust1.ico
SubFolderIcon = cust2.ico

[8 Way Joystick Games]

1941
1942
1943
arabian
astdelux
asterix
asteroid
berserk
blstroid
blueprint

 

Any ideas?

Please attach (no copy & paste) copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files right after the error occurs.

Thank you. Here are the requested files. This is the latest GameEx Arcade Edition. I did follow the layout from that thread.

I will need @Tom Speirsto confirm whether or not this is possible with GameEx Arcade Edition as the instructions at the time were specific to GameEx proper.

Awesome. In the meantime, I will try GameEx proper and see if everything works as it should and report back.
