Here's a weird one. I was using gameex last week with a bluetooth joypad, absolutely no problem at all. Today i change the processor and now the BT joypad wont work in gameex.

BUT, it works in windoze and in all the emulators, but NOT gameex.

Is there a setting i have accidentally changed and dont know about. I have rebooted so many times, deleted the BT device, as you do, to reinstall it. Reinstalled gameex and still nothing. Checked the settings that i know of and it set to allow joystick controllers.

So has anyone else had the same problem? or have a clue why?

Still likely a Windows device issue as GameEx relies upon Windows to report what is connected to it for gamepad support.

thanks. ok, so new cpu is a good enough excuse to do a virgin reinstall. You got to love windoze.

Okey... virgin install of windows 11 pro last night. Pretty well basic, and  again blue tooth working within the emulators and within windows itself but nothing on gameex. Is there anywhere i can download an early version of gameex and test those out? Or is microsoft, being microsoft, and depreciating stuff again?

So it could be the last "update" they did, buggered up something.

Let's attach a copy of your gameex.ini and log.txt files for review.

If you go to the Gameex download, click See changelog and click the radio button next to the version you want to download.

Per the log:

Towards the end - not sure if this is in reference to the Bluetooth gamepad, @Tom Speirs will need to review:

there is not switch, its an Xbox controller, as i said before it works from within the emulators, so i can launch an emu from gameex but you no longer can use the controlled to move around in gameex for some reason. They do time out if left untouched for quite some time.

So, it initially works you can launch an emulator from GameEx, use the emulator then it stops working after exit from the emulator? Is it a specific emulator? The log shows that you didnt launch anything.

sorry.. it doesnt work at all now in gameex, it works in all emus i have tried launching from gameex. Initially i thought windows 11 had gone bad so did a virgin instal and still the same problem. It no longers does anything in gameex for some reason.

Good shout.... the usb joysticks work, did have two other usb gamepads but can only find one and that doesnt work either. Tested within an emulator and all good. Went to config and selected the input for gameex to the controlpad which is listed and still doesnt work.

Found the other joypad, and that shows up in the input config, selected and nothing.

Strangely gone through the process as i have, and gone into an emu, CD32 played a quicky exited it, went back into config in gameex, noticed that no input devices was selected... hmm! anyway selected usb joystick/gamepad and that has started to work.

I dont have time at the moment to go through everything, so i will as soon as i have got some spare time. It could be that it wasnt saving setting when i specifically set the input to that device, this time i selected it to "any device" and it worked. So going to have a play around, now i have noticed that.

Before, default, was any device. so will let you know when i can.
