2player versions of Ninja Turtle games refuse to show up

I have odd issue with Gamex Arcade.  My 2 player versions of Turtles and Turtles in time refuse to show in my game list.  The roms are there and playable directly in Mame.  Is there something I'm missing here? Do I need to filter out 4player games for the 2 player ones to show?

If the are separate ROMS you should see both if present.

- What version of MAME are you running?

- What are the ROM names for the two player versions and four player versions in your set?

Please attach (NO copy & paste) copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files when reporting an issue for review.

Have you tried inputting the impacted ROMS within the Do not filter these ROMS of the MAME setup in the Setup Wizard and Updating your list upon boot?

Also, I would suggest upgrading to the latest MAME non-UI version and matching ROM set. GameEx is optimized for the more recent versions of MAME.

Try changing Verify ROMS to No (in gameex.ini it shows as VerifyRoms=True and should probably be set to VerifyRoms=False) then Update List after launching GameEx to see if that remedies the issue.

If that does not work, then comes the hard decision - do you upgrade to the latest MAME version and ROM Set? You could download and set it up in its own directory and change the MAME settings to point to the new paths for the EXE and ROMS to see if that fixes the issue.

Honestly, even if it doesn't, you should probably be on a more current version anyway since 0.139 was released July 29,2010 (13 years ago).
