Compatibility Issue

NOTE: This is NOT a problem with GameEx itself, but a compatibility problem.

I don't know if anyone's addressed this. If so, go ahead and tell me to remove it.

Problem:

When using GameEx, I would scroll into Emulators, pick an emulator (Ex: N64), and inside my Intro Videos wouldn't play. I would then exit the emulator and discover that ALL of the Icons and Videos have disappeared. Finally, I'd try to exit GameEx, and then the entire program would freeze up on me. If I was in Full screen mode, it would mean I'd have to reboot to exit out.

Solution:

The problem was the CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack), but more specifically the Haali Media Splitter's "Enable AVI Support".

For the love of God, keep that option UNCHECKED if you're using .AVI videos in GameEx.

If you use Codec Packs, and are having problems in GameEx with video playback and unexpected crashes, check the Codec settings. Specifically the 'Haali Splitter' settings, and possibly even the 'ffdshow' settings.
