ashleyb
Upgraded from 5.85 to 5.94 and not getting backglasses displaying in Pinballx via backglass server option. Is this a known issue? Reinstalled 5.85 and problem remains. Any advice please?

Is this using B2S Server in PinballX instead of backglass media?, can you attach your PinballX Log.txt & PinballX.ini files and let us know what version of B2S Server you're using. Thanks. Thanks. Yes using B2S server. The few backglass media I have load ok. B2S server is V2.0.2. Everything worked fine in 5.85, upgraded to 5.94 today and no backglasses via B2S. Reinstalled 5.85 and the problem remained, so reinstalled 5.94 again and still the same issue. Blackglasses all work fine in VPX. log.txt PinballX.ini
scutters
I don't normally use B2S in PinballX, but i just tried it with V5.94 and it worked for me I'm using V2.0 of B2S Server, with vpinmame 3.6beta (i forget the revision), and B2S is still installed in the Visual Pinball\Tables folder. Any chance you updated B2S server at the same time you updated PinballX, and/or did you move B2S to a new location (this was added as an option in V2.0 i think) - i'm not sure if PinballX assumes B2S Server is always located in the Tables folder as it always used to be. No only updated pinballx yesterday. I did update B2S to v.2.0.2 last week and all was fine (and I did move it to a new location), in fact everything was definitely working ok yesterday until updating pinballx to v5.94. All of my other components are pretty much up-to-date also as I followed the 64 bit upgrade guide a few weeks ago.
scutters
My gut feeling is that it's the path change to B2S server that is the problem - but that was changed before you saw the issue. So as a test you could try copying just screenres.txt and B2SBackglassServerEXE.exe back to the Tables folder (don't re-register B2S or anything, just copy those files for a test so they can be removed later without changing anything else), and see if that makes any difference in PinballX. Not sure what else to suggest unless you have experience using procmon to see what's happening under the hood when you run PinballX and the calls to vPinMAMELauncherx86.exe that PinballX uses to launch B2S files. ashleyb
Updated to 5.96 and still no change. Also played with the settings in pinballx and now made things worse as since setting the “auto position direct B2s” setting to yes have now lost the fulldmd part of my backglasses that had them. Even if I run vpx stand-alone fulldmd backglasses no longer show the fulldmd image, backglass itself still displays. Toggling this setting back to No doesn’t help. Anyone know what setting this actually changes so I can revert back as this is worse than the original issue.

Thank you, putting the B2s backglassserverexe.exe back into tables folder has fixed it. Though I haven’t had that file in there since moving to 64 bit as the instructions say to delete it from the tables folder once relocated to its own folder. Also copying screenres.txt back to the tables folder has solved my fulldmd issue. The one that was in there was modified around the time of me setting the auto position setting in pinballx and it had screwed the config. So it seems somewhere along the line of newer pinballx versions it needs the backglass server file back in the tables folder. Thanks again.
