Why has GameEx been displaying my MAME game history, create snaps text, game database info, etc. display like this?

I've been pulling my hair out for a while over this... Like the last several versions at least are doing this. Can someone tell me what the deal is with that? I do use custom themes and it seems to do this in all of them. It used to be like this:

1942 is

a great

game that

involves a

n airplane

and your

mission is

to destro

y all the o

ther enem

ies.

That's still awful, but the one letter per line problem is just unbearable.

I can't duplicate it here, and I can't think of anything that has changed recently that would make that work differently. Could you have a think about what else might have changed on your system, such display changes etc? Could you give me a better idea of your display setup so I can try and duplicate it. I have nothing to go on from this.

It's theme related apparently.

Some (but not all) custom themes have issues with displaying the game info. If someone knows what the heck I did different with my themes Pure and Ultra (and Amos82's Future Retro is a little off too... Maybe these are connected somehow since both my themes are based off his original .ini) I'd like to know how to fix it... If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Did you change the resolution your running them at? I think its a bit of a bug when GameEx tries to scale them from there intended resolution perhaps. Does that make any sense?

EDIT: Or font size any different?

I have a font size set at -1 I believe. I tried -2 and -3 (as per Amos BlueGlass and Firebrand's Valhalla themes that both work) and nothing has changed under MAME menus.

All my resolutions are and started from 1024x768 so there's no change there. The only thing I can think of that's different is I added another monitor to my PC. I should mention, however, that my cab has similar problems and that has always run 2 monitors.

I've had this problem. Can't recall how I fixed it.

I get it with my own custom themes as well. I think it has to do with the "list" field being resized from the default setting.

Yep, ive seen it too, i reckon it has something to do with having the list to the far left of the screen, itdoesnt seem to happen when the list is near the default position.
