I was wondering about how to setup HB Mame and have all the roms show. Any Ideas?

With the latest release of GameEx easiest way is probably just to set it up as a custom emulator then use a litxml output file as a map file.

I will take a look though and see if I can do a proper emulator profile for hbmame and if there is one already make sure it is up to date.

Im uploading 18.31 now. It includes an updated profile and files. That will be the best way!

Tried the new version. deleted original configuration. added new. all the roms still don't list. not only that they won't launch either. I'm sure it's the command line. now you say use listxml and make a map file? I'ma try that. I havent made a map file in years. I'ma go thru some of my old hard drives and see if I can find a backup of a older install, plus I need to find Daphne (she's lost) LOL

this is the command line hbmame.exe [ROM] -ROMPATH=[ROMPATH] -skip_disclaimer -skip_gameinfo -triplebuffer -nowindow -joy

I would also need the exact command to output the roms to a text file. is the map file option gone?

Sorry, I didnt realise you already had it setup. Your post looked like you were setting it up for the first time. My new setup worked fine for me. Ill double check if you help too but it should just be importing the profile downloading emu and pointing to your games. I was using the latest set however.

Tom  it's never that easy. The roms are merged so game ex doesnt  know about the variants. I'ma have a look at the thread Draco posted. Also can you no longer select map files within Game Ex? I don't see the option anymore.

Map files are there. That was my solution. With the latest release mame listxml files are supported as map files. Its under advanced emu setings (next page).

PS: My solution lists all roms. It does not matter if you have merged set. 

Your log would really help. Maybe I messed up not including the updated files or something.

The file is included in the latest install fior the latest hbmame. From that log though I cant even see if your running the latest version.

From the command line.

Mame.exe -listxml > outputmapfile.xml

I got that from the show log application. is there another place to obtain a log?

c:\gameex\log\ normally but its missing half of it for some reason.

Actually I can see your using the new hbmame.xml map file and new profile. What exactly is the issue. Do you have an old romset?

It needs to be run from the command line or a .bat file.

or prefix it with cmd.exe

Its probably the paths or extra command lines.

I think this -ROMPATH=E:\Launchbox\Games\HbMame\roms

should be

-ROMPATH E:\LUnchbox\Games\HbMame\roms

yes sir. and thanx for correcting me on the output. I made a batch file and got a map file. now you said remove database? I'm clear it and setup again
