Hi. I'm using InstantSheller with GameEX and noticed that the progress bar on the bootscreen doesn't move when the system is booting up (i assume this is intentional). I was wondering if there is some software that will

make the progress bar on the GameEX bootscreen move when the system is booting up. If there is maybe i could use it to replace the windows bootscreen with GameEX bootscreen. Then run InstantSheller with the 'Replace Bootscreen' option unchecked and InstantSheller would do the rest. Has anyone any ideas ?

Thanks for your time !

Iano.

The boot logo is simply three bmp files. One of the background and text, one of the progress item that it animates (the part you are interested in), and one of the text that indicates your version that's placed just below the "windows" text (Professional, Home). All these files are stuffed into the ntoskrnl.exe file along with the OS boot strap files. There are some simple utilities out there to help you edit it, or you can simply copy in a new one. Just as a note, screw up the parsing of this file and windows won't be able to boot. Aside from that, this should help:

My guess as to the reason the instant sheller one doesn't move: Only one bmp was supplied in the patch that it applies--one that contains the whole image rather than one with the background and an additional part suitable to animate.
