Hi. I know, I Know, I was warned but i've just done the unthinkable and made a mess of installing InstantSheller - Now i can't get back into Windows XP. But i thought (from reading the version updates) that i

could 'Undo'. I also figured that changing the boot logo, getting rid of the logon/logout screen would be great but i thought if you exited GameEX (not choose to boot down) that you would get back to the desktop. Obviously, i was wrong. I can see the benefits of making windows less obvious in an arcade cab but i do need it for updating & maintenance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Start you system, let it boot up into GameEx. Then exit GameEx to windows. Press ctrl+alt+delete and go into the task manager. File\new task\ -> browse to Windows\Explorer.exe

Now you need to go to the directory that you have your Instantsheller folder in. Open Instantsheller and click undo. Restart you computer. Voilá! (I hope).

Once you get your desktop back, add explorer.exe to the "run after" line in your GameEx mame setup. Then it will launch it for you whenever it exits (when it exits normally of course, not when it gets CTL ALT DELed).
