[RESOLVED] Can I show all games in one wheel/list, regardless of MAME, emulator or PC game?

Can I show all games in one wheel/list, regardless if the game is in MAME, a different emulator or a PC game?  Thanks!

Thank you for the help, but I'm sorry, but I don't quite follow.  Where should I be looking at "all games" or "emulator groups"?  I think at one time I had an "All Games" icon on my main wheel but it's no longer there.  I think I may have gotten rid of it when I was cleaning up the interface.  I've tried to get it to show again and have failed.  I thought it might be in C:\GameEx Arcade Edition\CONFIG\GameEx.ini, line 239 "true" but that doesn't do it.  If that icon in the main wheel that is what you're referring to, can you tell me how to get it back?  Thanks again!

BTW...I love, love, love your program!  Perfect for my new arcade.  I was pulling my hair out with Hyperspin and RocketLauncher, but I'm guessing you've heard that before.  I'm still learning the ropes and creating my own logos and videos for PC Games, etc. but I'm having fun doing so!

Please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files. These files will help us to see your current settings and advise accordingly.

Attached. Just FYI, in the future I'll be setting up other emus and would prefer to have an "All Games" option but the separate emu options as well (and pinball). Thank you!

You will need to search for Emulator Groups within the Setup Wizard.

In thr example above, you can give the emulator group whatever name you desire and add the emulator numbers separated by semicolons. As Tom noted, integrated MAME is emulator 0.

There is no such title as Emulator Groups in the current and recently past versions.

To be honest I only toyed with it a bit when it became available in GameEx and never noticed it wasn't part of Arcade Edition. My apologies. Looks like Tom is on it! Thanks!

Yes, I checked.

PS: Theres a lot of folks here who don't necesarily use GameEx or game much due to life, time and age etc but still hang out and help. I also think the image was grabbed from the WIKI which is out of date.

Actually grabbed it from a response by DazzleHP but probably from about the same time. I can't imagine it has changed much since then, but it isn't a feature that I used.

You guys are awesome, thank you!  I'll look forward to that in the next version.  It would be great to give the group a custom logo as well.  Would running the wizard write over all of my current settings (meaning I'd have to set up everything all over again), or would that just create the new emu group?  Thanks again, this is great!!

I'm attaching a photo of the arcade just for kicks, proudly running Gameex Arcade.  The digital marquee idea looks really interesting...maybe I'll give that a go someday.

Running the wizard will only overwrite changes you make in that session.

If you are making lots of changes, making a backup of your gameex.ini file before you start is always a good idea. Worst case you overwrite your changed copy to restore your original settings.

Thx again for the help, and next time I'll automatically post the config files and what version I'm running and I'll encourage others to do the same.  Thx for not jumping down my throat for not doing that initially.

its done and now available in arcade edition 17.17.

I added the all games list rather than emulator groups. As that was specifically what you requested,

You are the man!  I am downloading both GameEx Arcade and the GameEx Arcade Core latest updates.  Looking forward to installing them tomorrow.

Thanks Tom.

Your welcome. Just so you know both versions are the same in functionality. Once I am sure the core versions have no bugs they will replace the other versions and they wont be called core. The exisisting versions will just be for windows xp support,

It's looking pretty good and I love the functionality but I do notice something that isn't quite right with the Steam games.

Under the new "All Games" wheel, all of the games show in the wheel (with the proper custom logos) but when I go to a Steam game the custom png logos don't show in the supporting screen properly - the logo that shows is the MAME logo from the game before the Steam game alphabetically.  All of the MAME game logos show properly in their supporting screens and my PC game logos show properly as well (no otheer emus set up yet.)  Also, the custom videos I assigned to the Steam games are only showing a portion of the supporting video (I think the top left quadrant of the whole video).  I'll experiment but I think the errors may have something to do with the naming scheme used by Steam.  To get Steam custom logos and and videos to show in the supporting screens under the "Steam" wheel before, I had to name the video and logo in accordance with the Steam game number, which is something like 56924 instead of a game name.  When I get time I'll play around with the naming, maybe try naming the Steam game pngs and mp4s with the actual game title, and see if that makes things work correctly.  I can make a video of the discrepancies if that helps.  But hey, right now I'm a beggar, not a chooser, and I'm pumped that the games are all under one wheel.  Thank you.

*edit* After closing Gameex Arcade and reopening, random MAME game logos were selected for the Steam games initially, but then moving the wheel then coming back, no logo showed at all in the supporting screens.  Gameex Arcade is definitely having trouble associating the custom png logos with the Steam games in supporting screens.  The error is only happening under the "All Games" wheel, however.  They show properly under the "Steam" wheel.
