hansolo77
Ok, I installed the theme after examining how other people built their themes. Adultry and amos for instance. It looked like they had their root folder with some ini's, and some images, then the Media folder. In that folder, there was a folder called logos and a whole bunch of images and sound files. Closer examination showed me that the MEDIA folder was where all the custom backgrounds go, and the logos go in the logo's folder (redundant, I know ). So that's all said and done. Then I go into the setup wizard, and select his theme. Trial run, I launch it, and all my screens look like this:The category search part of the menu is overlapping my snaps. So basically, I need help fixing that. I thought it might have been because it was a 1024x768 resolution background, so I changed GameEx to run in that mode rather than the 800x600 I usually run at. I still had the same results. I also tried changing the font size. Normally I run everything in "Bigger", so I changed it down to "Normal" which I thought most people would be using. That didn't help either. I did, however, figure out that my theory was correct about how to apply the custom background by going through the wizard and choosing the background from the list.I also need to bicker and bitch about one other thing. Font color. This theme is too awesome to not be used. But I can't read the lists on some of them sweet backgrounds. This is because the white text font blends into the backgrounds where there is fire, or an explosion, or some other cool fog-like effect going on. I thought there was an option to enable a black border around the text, but couldn't find it in the wizard. I decided to go back to the archaic days and checked out the original configurator program. It was there, and I enabled it, but it didn't help all that much. Is there anything else I can do?All nastiness aside, AcidBrains Vision is one of the best looking themes I've seen on this site. Totally worth every drop of sweat he put into it. Good job bro!
amos_82
Damn this is a cool theme! Great work AcidBrain It looks like the snap is meant to overlap, my guess is that AcidBrain has disabled his databases? Y/N?The change you made in the config app to the outline did not work because the theme.ini setting overides it, try this:Change "OutlineFonts=False" to "OutlineFonts=True" in the 'theme.ini' to get the black outline. Also to hide the toolbar, and to set the font to the right size; add these lines after: TitleFontSize=36FontSize=1HideToolBar=2To add the backgrounds, icons etc add this stuff for each emulator after "Image=121,208,364,393":[Emulator_1]DATABASE=FalseStartPageLogo=n64CustomBackground=n64.pngTo make things faster, here's the theme.ini with the changes & some emus added: Theme.ini.txtany better? hansolo77
Question/Request:Is there a way to save settings for each theme? I had downloaded Valhalla too and set it up. It works great, but I spent so much time setting the custom backgrounds. If I go to change the theme, wouldn't the backgrounds that aren't using the same file names just not show up? If that be the case, is there anyway to save a customized config for each theme? So I can switch themes and have all the backgrounds still match up? Adultery
Of course! In the theme.ini file, I set my emulators up so that the defaults are set up before GameEx settings are loaded. Paste something similar to this in the bottom of theme.ini Set these up accordingly, then save your changes and exit.[Emulator_1]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_2]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_3]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_4]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_5]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_6]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_7]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_8]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_9]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=[Emulator_10]CustomBackground=StartPageLogo=Where your first emulator is #1 in GameEx config,CustomBackground=YourSystemHere.pngStartPageLogo=LogoHereExample:[Emulator_10]CustomBackground=MasterSystembak.pngStartPageLogo=SmsUnfortunately, you have to change the pages for each theme. (I think we should all sit down and figure out a theme standard so that one could just cut and paste this setup into each theme. Then everyone has to do this once.)Anywho, you do this once for each theme and these settings will be ready if you disable/enable the theme.Hope that helps!
