Another strange issue that just popped up very recently. And it's done it a handful of times now, but again intermittent. When exiting a table and returning to the main menu, none of the wheel images show up. All the games are there in the wheel but in text format only. The screenshots of table and backglass are present and the table audio is playing as I move through the menu. Just the wheels have disappeared. On one occasion exiting altogether and restarting PinballX did not resolve it.

Last time this issue came up it was because windows was deleting temporary files. Windows does this when hard disk space is low.

Aha... my C:\ drive was nearing maximum. I only had 5 Gb left and there was an unused E:\ partition of only about 450Mb. Dunno why that partition was there but Windows was saying it was 70% full when checking it's properties. But on double clicking the drive for files there was nothing on it at all. So I deleted that partition and expanded C:\ into the unallocated space. There's loads of Gb space on there now.

Is there anything else I might need to do regarding clean up or allocating virtual memory? (System had 8Gb ram anyway)

I had a SSD crash recently and my original C:\ drive was only 120 Gb in size. So I restored my back up C:\ image to a brand new 256Gb SSD. Hence why I could expand.

Hi, so glad you posted this!  I had this exact issue.    The fonts also appear to change as well when it occurs.  However, it does not just occur on table exit. I thought the same thing until just last night I was scrolling through tables in the PBX interface and the wheel images disappeared right in front of my eyes!   My storage on C:\ is also "low"  (see screenshot below).  https://winaero.com/clear-temporary-files-automatically-windows-10/   Good news!   I disabled Windows 10 "Storage Sense" and let PBX sit there for the amount of time when the issue usually happens (after 5-10 minutes)...and success!   Problem solved.

StorageSense activity logs are found here: C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\setupcln\setupact.log

For reference, here is a video of the issue when running PinballX v5.15 on Windows 10.     Perhaps PinballX can write an event to the log file when this issue is detected referring to the solution?  Example/  "Windows Temp File detected as missing:  C:/users/%user%/appdata/local/temp/file.jpg  Consider disabling Windows Storage Sense or freeing up your C: drive"

You may want to give this thread a read. I had a similar issue occur with Windows 10 and the steps in the link referenced within saved my bacon:

P.S. Since this PC has multiple drives, I have all of my apps, emulators, media, etc. installed on anything but the C: drive.
