Hey All,

Relatively new to the board (and I hope this is cool) but I was wondering what other programs you all use on your arcade cabs with Gameex?

Whilst my cabinet is still in its relative infancy and Im still dabbling with various game sets / emulators / etc I have stumbled upon a few relatively cool programs that look like there going to work in with Gameex sensationally and as such thought I would share them.

Karaoke - I use a free programe known as Ultrastar (www.ultrastarstuff.com) which not only bares an uncanny resemblance to another well known karaoke program, but is a breeze to set up and adjust.

I use Digital Jukebox 1.2.5 as my Jukebox centre which managers my 10 or so thousand audio files well.

I'm also in the process of installing a stepmania program for my kids which also looks pretty kick a$$ good.

Would be interested in hearing what you guys are also running or would recommend.

Cheers

Hi, welcome!

You do know that GameEx has built in capabilities for Karaoke and Jukebox? Or do you just know your way around the apps that you mentioned so well and want to skip the learning threshold for the built in ones? ;)

Hey Emph,

Got know - Im a novice in every possible way with Gameex other than to realise just how much of a superb program it is.

With that said I must admit I do find the jukebox program I use slightly better for my needs and the Karaoke via Ultrastar suits my kids.

What I do enjoy however is Gameex's ability to incorporate and manage all these into one nice neat package!

Ultrastar is defininitely better than directx karaoke. I use them both, but I'd really like to see dx karaoke support zipped files. The built-in juke could use a little spit and polish too, as the file list formatting that works for many a game list doesn't work so well for an expansive music collection. It's all satisfactory enough to use in the meantime though, especially since the important points are met and everything integrates well.

edit: Wow, how did I dig up such an old thread.. oops :P

Actually Ultrastar looks interesting...tho I'm now curious if there is any way of converting cdg's into the required txt files.

thanks for the link...but it would still be nice to find a way to convert cdg's over to text...I got a mess of Irish songs that would simply be a blast when using that app while getting a good drunk on. ;)

Plus my cdg collection is rather large...five digits and one comma are involved. ;)
