[RESOLVED] Saving Game List

Hi everyone,

I have installed GameEx Arcade Edition and was wondering, after running "Update List" option, is GameEx suppose to then save that list to load on next start-up?

Right now I find myself having to run "Update List" every time I start GameEx to get rid of all the BIOS roms from the menu.

It should not. Please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files in reply for review.

Also, make sure you have GameEx Arcade Edition installed to the root directory of your drive and not to any directories that require elevated access, such as under Users or Program Files or Program Files (x86).

I do have the GameEx folder in root and not as a sub-folder.

Check your root folder and make sure it and all subfolders are not set to Read Only.

For the sake of clarification, are you getting the Update List prompt every time you open GameEx Arcade Edition or are you making changes and invoking it each time? If the first, try downloading and reinstalling over the top of your current installation. Thanks.

Hi Draco,

I noticed last week the folder was marked as "Read Only" so I unchecked that box but checking just now, it was back to "Read Only".  Unchecked again and applied but sure enough Winblows made it "Read Only".  This is why I tend to avoid Winblows as much as possible.

Just did the reinstall as you suggested.  I unblocked the zip then extract then install.  Once again, directory is set to "Read Only" which I removed but comes right back as "Read Only".

Well, not sure what I did since I tried many options, but it appears to now be loading the compiled list without the bios roms.
