Fastmame Config

Hi all!!!

I tried fastmame today and i have more speed in some games. But now i have a little problem, that is when i enter to play a game, and press the tab key to config my pad buttons, it configs well, but if i exit to gameex and return to play another game, or the same game i configured last, the keys are by default and the config aren´t saved.

How can i configure my keys in fastmame and save it to all games?

Thanks in advance, and the last question is, what is the official page of fastmame, or where can i donwload the latest version of that emulator?

i dont know much about fastmame other than the last known version 098b was released july of 05 so its pretty old and i think its no longer being developed i would try some of the newer mame builds

Thanks for your reply peterson, but I´m trying fastmame because mame32 don´t run any games at full speed and fastmame is more fast in some of that games.

What emultor you recomend me, with similar features of fastmame? I need a emulator for a slow pc, with a minimal resources, and more speed than mame32.

Any suggestions?

depending what games you are trying to run, if its some old 80's arcade stuff i then older builds of mame are best, mame 32 seems to run slower for me or find a faster machine. its so cheap to build a computer from tigerdirect.com

For a fresher version of MAME you could try one of the mame builds optimized to fit your type of processor: http://redump.emubase.de/mame.php

To get FastMAME to save your configuration, (this is assuming that you have run FastMAME outside of GameEx and have a mame.cfg-file) add this command line option into your Advanced MAME configuration:

-inipath "c:\mame\cfg"
 ( "c:\mame\cfg" is where your cfg folder is located)

Latest version of FastMAME is here: http://www.geoshock.com/ (0.98). You could setup GameEx to run FastMAME in addition to your regular MAME and set the games you need to run faster as you favorites. This way, while browsing your favorites, GameEx will show all the latest game (post 0.98) using the latest MAME build, and also launch the slow games using FastMAME. Win/Win situation, no?

I've tried to have both FastMAME as an emulator and "regular" MAME (one of the 0.110 builds) and since GameEx now checks MAME version to select the correct bezel/artwork for vertical games there seems to be a conflict that makes vertical games to not work. :/ I'm not sure if this is why it happens though, since GameEx sets my bezels incorrectly everytime I've changed anything using the Advanced Configuration App. I have to go into my gameex.ini and change the bezelversion back to '2' manually everytime I've made any other changes. Please fix this, Tom!
