Hey.

So when I run WinKawaks it runs great, but when I run it through your wrapper it's all over the place... There's a window that keeps flickering back and forth... Like this.

This and the gameplay screen switch back and forth to create a nearly unbearable 'flicker' effect on my machine.

Suggestions? :)

Is show desktop on or off? Which wrapper version are you using.(1st or 2nd)?

Well I'm at a loss, I looked at all three scripts, simple wrapper and both kill scripts, none of them have any thing that should alter window focus.

If any thing the "WinGetTitle('')" bit would at worse grab the wrong window title...or at least should.

Try the original kill script that linpanda re-uploaded for us and see if that makes a difference...if not...then more than likely its nothing to do with the scripts since that one is very cut and dry.

Wish I could be of more help, but right now I'm in a fight with the State...and well my house needs to be clean for the time being. ;)

Show Desktop = False

Not sure which wrapper I'm using... Downloaded the whole kit from the uploads catagory here.

Thanks Ling, but I got everything set up the same way as you showed me and it's still not working. :(

I'm using the Simple_Wrapper.exe and *.ini files to launch. If I change to the Kill_Winkawaks wrapper same thing happens.

*frustrated*

Is your command line like this? "winkawaks" [rom] -fullscreen

With the quotes?

It was for the Kill_Winkawaks wrapper:

"winkawaks" [rom] -fullscreen

But for the Simple_Wrapper.exe it's set at the default that was inside the .ini for GameEx:

Simple_Wrapper.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]"

Neither method works for me... They both launch, just get the 'strobe' effect where WinKawaks seems to be pausing and starting itself over and over again.

Ok I just looked at the simple wrapper config. I noticed it puts a filter of *.ini for roms. When you use the kill_winkawaks wrapper did you make sure to delete this?

Yes sir. :)

I added *.zip to my alternate winkawaks config...

I set each method up as a seperate emulator.

*hopes* Man I wanna get this to work... Neo Geo looks nice with the 2xSai filter! :)

Ok I just tried with the simple wrapper and it works fine. I'm going to have to assume its with how your initial winkawaks is setup. I'm going to see if anything jumps out on me.

; try setting this to 1 for a potentially big speed boost (default 0)

Change it "0" till we get it working.

Made the appropriate changes - now it runs really fast but still deos the same thing. I was not having speed issues before (other than the pause screen the game ran at normal speed)

Longshot... try this setting. Any way to make a video of the problem? Maybe setting "show desktop" will work for you. I know others had to set show desktop to get chankast to work while others didn't. :(

Posted

No good... Same problem either way. :(

What software would I need to create a video of the problem?

.:. EDIT .:. I just discovered CPZN games don't run at all... I am using the most recent BIOS files. :(

lingpanda maybe share your ini for winKawaks...wish I could pitch in on the trouble shooting. :(

Adultery -

Now the pathing in the actual WinKawaks ini is correct far as pathing is concerned correct?

Yes. I have a removable drive specifically for MAME games (blasted CHD's :)) so the winkawaks folder is at the root. I used MAME 0.109 ROMs and had them recompiled for winkawaks with clrMAMEpro. I have tested (and am able to run) Neo Geo games and CPZN 1 & 2 games run properly in fullscreen through Winkawaks itself...

However when I run them through GameEx I cannot run CPZN games at all. Neo Geo games are choppy (like I mentioned before).

I'm looking at ling's ini right now... Hopefully we'll solve the mystery cuz these games look so much cleaner with the filter...

Thanks for the wrapper Nologic, i set this up today & love it! Its just happily feeding off my mame roms directory :)

Adultery - I read over your 'winKawaks.ini' here's where mine is different to yours, if you want to try some changes:

NeoGeoFreeplay=0

No luck. :(

I tried to use a default install also but the same thing happens. :(

Good to hear

Adultery -

Sad to hear :(

Maybe try killing all unneeded background process's and see if the issue clears up...maybe some thing is taking focus away.

Posted

Sadly, already tried that too. :(
