Hello, I haven't played in about a month but after an update to Gameex yesterday, the Servostick doesn't switch over like it used to.

It had been running problem free before. I haven't made any changes to the system or Gameex configuration. Testing the stick using joytray shows that 2-way and 4-way functionality still works so the hardware is fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Were you running the 32-bit version before the upgrade? Per the log file you have the 64-bit version installed.

Please download the latest version again and install it over the top but deselect 64-bit option.

Let us know if that resolves it for you.

Thanks for the response. It had updated through the UI so I didn't knowingly switch versions. Per your recommendation, I reinstalled the 32-bit version as directed but that didn't fix it.

I remember I had a lot of trouble getting the stick to work in the first place. I was about to give up when a random Gameex update last September suddenly worked and it had been solid until recently.

And thanks again for the help.

Just so you are aware, I am unable to replicate any errors as I do not have your setup, so I invite anyone that has seen similar to this issue to chime in with suggestions. That said, I will point out some obvious things I noticed in the log.txt file.

First, upon loading plugins:

09:14:27.05  9/12/2020:  Loading PlugIns
09:14:27.07  9/12/2020:  Could Not Load Plugin: 1

According to the gameex.ini, this is your Ultrastick plugin:

Plugin_1]
Name=PlugInUltraStik.dll
Enabled=True

What is confusing is the log.txt shows:

09:14:27.21  9/12/2020:  SlikStik support enabled

and then:

09:14:30.00  9/12/2020:  Unable to create a joystick device

Based upon this, I would say that the plugin is not being invoked properly. I don't know that it is a GameEx version change or not, or something Windows 10 related, or a combo of the two. If you have a copy of the previous version you upgraded from to reinstall, that would be of help. That may assist Tom to dial-in on what changes he made since that have created an issue with compatibility.

Your analysis did help.

I was able to find an old install, one from July 10, 2019 and bingo, the stick worked again. Like I said earlier, the stick worked about a 1-2 months ago and I think I was current on updates back then. If something caused the stick to lose functionality, it was likely from 2 months ago to now. Hopefully this gives some data that could be helpful.

Regardless, thanks Draco1962  for lending a hand and steering me toward functionality. My 4 year old can control Popeye again.

Can you post copies of your current gameex.ini, log.txt, and PluginUltraStick.ini files?

That way Tom can take a look having the version information, etc. from the files to examine for differences and a hopeful fix. Thanks!

P S. You son has good taste! Popeye is in my top 10!

it may have been the move to .net framework 4 that broke it. Often takes a year or two to find out around here!

I believe there is a fix by editing gameex.exe.config. Hopefully the op will get back to is.

Actually just worked perfectly fine for me Plugin initialized okay with 16.63. I used the ultrastick plugin from the repository. So not sure what is going here. I have not actually got a servostick though.

Unfortunately changing GameEx.exe.config file didn't do the trick.

The box still shows up as checked in the setup plugins tab in the setup wizard but functionality went away.

When working correctly, I can hear the servo adjust slightly when GameEx boots (probably ensuring it's set to 4-way for the ui) and when starting a game, it'll switch as needed. Right now, neither happens.

Attached are logs from after adding the file. Apologies for this being tricky. I don't think there are many of us servostick users out there so I feel like an island nation on this one. Thanks for the help.

I tried the new config file and still no action in the servo.

GameEx.exe.config gets dropped in the gameex root directory correct? I don't want to give you bad info if I've simply placed it in the wrong spot.

Thanks

Hi there - you are correct. It should replace the file of the same name in your GameEx root path. Thanks for posting your updated files. Tom should be back soon to examine further.
