Is it just me or do the intro movies for games run way too fast? I use the ffdshow codec - is it something I'm doing wrong or are they supposed to play at triple speed?

Do you mean the sample movie .avi's? I'm not seeing anything abnormal, but more than likely it is a codec issue.

Here's a link to one of the codec packs I highly recommend (for playback, not encoding):

http://www.cccp-project.net/

It includes the ffdshow, so maybe uninstalling any of your old playback codecs and installing this will help.

How do I do that? I'm emulator-savvy but don't really use my PC or my cab for movie playback. I shouldn't have anything other than what came with my PC (besides the ffdshow codec I installed to create the movies)

Ah, so if you didn't install any codec packs, all you have to do is follow the link, download the .exe for your OS, and then install it. Don't worry about being confused in the installer. just keep clicking 'next' :P

If you have more questions, I'm glad to help.
