Hi.  I'm building an arcade cabinet with MAME and I just want a very simple GUI to launch into to select the games so that nobody can accidentally mess up the MAME settings.  I would gladly pay the $50 lifetime membership for GameEx Arcade if I could get it to work.  I already have MAME 0.222 working with my ~200 favorite ROMs.

I installed GameEx Arcade and when I go into the game list there are thousands of games listed.  If I pick one of the games that I have installed, it flashes mame momentarily and then exits back into the GameEx Arcade GUI.  All I want is a GUI that launches my ~200 games.

I have spent many hours trying to get a frontend working and GameEx Arcade is my latest attempt.  I'm probably 10 hours of frustration into this.  Does any solution exist where I can just download something and have it work?  There's a youtube video from 2016 of some guy installing GameEx and getting it working right away.  I'm willing to start from scratch if there's a "just become a lifetime member and download/install this" option.

My log file and ini are attached.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Sorry you are experiencing so much trouble getting GameEx Arcade to work. It is not normally very difficult to stand up and get running with just MAME as you noted.

I reviewed your log.txt file and nothing obvious stood out to me as a cause.

Please be patient as we review your gameex.ini and log.txt further and be prepared for some questions and instruction as we attempt to triage this issue with you.

Thanks.

Oh, so embarrassing!  Stupid mistake on my part.  While transferring data from my test PC to my cabinet's PC I accidentally left the ROM .zip files out of my MAME directory.  Did that right before trying GameEx for the first time, so I thought my issue was with GameEx.  GameEx works beautifully once I got the ROM .zips back in the right spot.
