[RESOLVED] Trouble starting Gameex evolutoin and arcade edition

Hi there,

 

I've just recently subscribed and trying to get these loaded on a pc that was kicking around. I'll admit that I don't have much idea of what I'm doing here and I might have missed a couple steps here and there. I downloaded the game ex evolutioin and arcade edition and then also the game ex system pack.

With the game pack, I've picked the right directories but I can't seem to get it to load. Here is log that I get.

Please attach (no copy and paste) your gameex.ini file for review. We will address GameEx Arcade Edition here in this subforum.

I can tell you that you may be running into some issues with your paths going to C:\Users\arcade\Downloads\ROMLoadup\GameEx FrontLoader\Mame GameEx System\Media\MAME\ or C:\Users\arcade\Downloads\ROMLoadup\MAME.Roms.0.201.Merged.Set-ArcadePunks

c:\users can be problematic due to OS protections. Try moving the following and adjusting with the Setup Wizard to match:

MAME installation location -

C:\Emulators\MAME

MAME Media files location(s) - 

C:\Media\MAME\Snap 

C:\Media\MAME\Marquees

C:\Media\MAME\Flyers

C:\Media\MAME\Cabinets

Etc.

MAME ROMs location -

C:\ROMS\MAME

 

Another reason for not using a path under C:\users is future proofing for all users to access the frontend and emulators, not just the signed in user.

Will also need your gameex.ini file if no resolution. It is located in the \gameex arcade edition\config path.

Got it working so far. I had to update the drivers since I did reformatted this computer.

I'll let you guys know how I go from here!
