I have set up a new installation of Pinball X in the last couple of weeks and I'm really liking it. I'm just having a couple of teething problems and wondered if anyone can help. I have noticed that Pinball X uses B2S backgrounds if they exist but in these cases there is no DMD shown even if there is a relevant DMD in the "DMD Videos" folder. What might be best if I was to tell Pinball X not to use B2S backgrounds but just have a video playing instead. How would I go about doing this? I can find the videos, that's no problem, but how do I tell Pinball X, "don't use B2s Backgrounds, but simply play videos from the "Backglass Videos" in the [..Media/Visual Pinball X] folder.

Alternatively, how do I tell Pinball X to load a DMD video and show it over a B2S triggered backglass?

FYI: I have only Pinball FX3 and Visual Pinball X tables in Pinball X. I have a two screen setup. Once in game the backglasses, along with DMD, work fine.

Thank you,

Lee.

If anyone runs into the same problem then simply go go into settings (run settings.exe in PinballX folder) and click "Display Settings"  in the left-hand pane. Now, on the right there is an option that says "Use DirectB2S in Front End". Simply change this option to  "no" if you would prefer to use videos from your media folder instead of getting B2S to load the animated background used in the pinball table.

Glad you got your issue sorted. Instead of deleting it, why don't you share your solution just in case someone else runs into the same problem?

Thank you for the advice. I have explained what I did to solve the problem.

Did I make this the default setting by mistake? I thought it was off by default?

It is turned off by default upon initial install.
