All NEO-GEO games not showing up after update list

I have the entire romset for mame version 0.88 on my computer and am running mame version .96 with game-ex but when I "update list" thousands of roms that are present in my rom folder do not show up on the list. Every single NEO-GEO game but irritating maze is missing and I have no earthly clue why. When I had an earlier version of game-ex loaded on another computer with the same romset everything worked just fine. If anyone could give me any insight whatsoever I would be most grateful. I would also like to know what game-ex is looking for when it updates the list. Thank you,

First two things to check:

1. Make sure there isn't any filter set on neo geo titles under the filter option.

2. Make sure you have the appropriate neo geo bios files.

Ressurection is correct

This is because you have an out of date NEO-GEO BIOS/ROM.

A possible workaround is to disable Verify Roms, and turn on Only Exist under MAME Update Settings.
