I've finally gotten my keyboard encoder wired so I can put away the keyboard. When I start the computer I have it set to boot directly into GameEx. The Player 1 joystick allows me to move up and down between categories but how do I actuallty select them? I can move down to Mame but how do I select it? Probably a dumb question but it's got me stumped

what kind of encoder? ipac? if so you have to program a button as enter, the key to select a game/emulator. if you have a joypad, it may be different, but i have a nyko airflo and it's default is button 2 for select, 4 for back. (backspace is back if you have an ipac)

i also believe somewhere in game ex config, there is an option to change these keys.

I have the KeyWiz Max and I have a key mapped to the enter button. If I run Mame by itself the enter key works. I cant select in Gamex though

well check the INPUT section of the game ex configuration. fiddle with a few of those options maybe it will work. i personally would try it out, but can't afford anymore difficulties if i screw something up, it's been tough getting this together for me. but it sounds to be where you'd want to be tooling. change one thing at a time to see if it works before you start doing combinations. this way you can change it back if you mess up.

hoped this helped, sorry i couldn't test this.

Go figure, it's the one button I hadn't tried. I figured that button was only used for it's intended purpose Tom.

I'll try it out and see how it works.
