hey guys,

any way to do away with the user select screen when booting winxp sp2? i'm the only user, so i only have my profile to choose anyway. it just looks dumb to me becasue i use bootskin with the mame skin, and after that it says "select user". anyway to just boot without picking my profile?

you can use tweakui to autologin,

and disable the welcome screen in control panel user accounts options - give you the old style login dialogue. i don't do this though because then CTRL_ALT_DEL acts differently :/

that's about all i know sorry, don't know any way to remove the login process completely.

Or:

1. Using Start/Run, type:

control userpasswords2

2. Uncheck User must enter a user name and password to use this computer

nice again. funny how that's in a hidden bit of UI

edit: although if you do that, it could have weird consequences as environment veriables like %username% won't be present/correct. be careful if any of your software needs these paths/access rights.
