Hi everyone, I have a problem with project64 but also with mupen.
I have the nintendo 64 roms compressed in the 7zip format.
each archive contains multiple files in z64 format. when I select a game it is decompressed into the temporary "Unzipped7-Zip" folder.
the problem is that the unpacked files in this folder are not deleted.
can someone help me?
thank you

Have you considered running a batch file in the "launch after" slot for those emulators to run a command line to delete the files and or temporary folder?

It could be an admin rights issue. Can you attach copies of your gameex.ini, log.txt, and your batch file please? Do not copy & paste!

Existing files are deleted before each extract. So you will only ever have one rom in that folder.

I don't really see what the problem is?

Although I will make it delete the folder on exit of GameEx for next release.

to better understand me, I select a rom, then select another rom, the first previously selected appears in the second rom.

example: selected 40 Winks after I go back in the roms list I select AeroGauge but both 40 Winks and AeroGauge appear

The following is very odd:

Running: cmd.exe /c C: GameExConfig.exe

Its probably screwing things up. I think that is a very old program that has not been included with GameEx for several years.

Otherwise almost certainly a permissions issue.

Im not sure. More information would be helpful. Is the issue with a recent version of GameEx? Did it used to work?

What exactly is in the 7zip files? Are there folders or subfolders within them?

non so esatamente in quale versione.
ho provato ad avviare gameex con diritto di amministratore ma non e sparito il problema.ti do piu dettagli su le roms.
ho 423 archivi compressi con 7zip.ogni archivio puo contenere 1 o piu rom in formatto z64.

esempio:
l'archivio "40 Winks" contiene una sola rom "40 Winks (E) (M3) (Prototype).z64"
invece ad esempio l'archivio"GoldenEye 007" contiene 2 roms al suo interno "GoldenEye 007 (U) [!].z64"and "GoldenEye 007 (U) [T+Fre1.0_Corrigo].z64"

I don't know exactly in which version.
I tried to start gameex with administrator rights but the problem did not disappear. I give more details on the roms.

Okay, please try this replacement GameEx.exe.

If that does not work, go into control panel -> System -> Advanced system settings.

Click on environment variables and let me know what temp and tmp are.

not working

environment variables are:

TEMP              %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp

TMP                %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp

Mine does not say %userprofile% but actually shows the path to my user profile.

Did you get those values from where I said, or elsewhere?

If its not a rights issue it may be the attributes on the files. Maybe they are flagged as hidden, readonly or system.

Has the system been upgraded from an old version of windows or had a botched install?

Have you moved your user profile?
