nestopia problem

hey guys, i recently ran into a weird problem with nestopia, when i try to run it through gameex it loads the screen up, then it immediatly exits, its like im pressing the esc key but im not. If i load it up without gameex it runs fine! Any ideas?

Im using a slikstik quad with esc mapped as start 1 then pause. and i know there re no stuck keys

Does this happen with all games or a select few? It's been my experience that games with bad headers will prompt an error message and fall back to GameEx.

If that isn't your problem, show us what your config for GameEx looks like, or download the one in the submitted configs section and try again.

its on all the games, one day it was working fine, then the next it boots out, but its not to to an error. When your playing nestopia regulary, if you hit esc it asks are you sure you want to exit. When gameex is running, this message pops up right away and then it exits, if i try to play the same game out of gameex, its work fine.

I'll have to go on the other pc to get the config file.

1.) Start GameEx

2.) Start your emulator

3.) No error given but the screen returns to GameEx

Is that correct?

i use nestoipa, and had a similar problem, is nestopia set to launch roms in fullscreen?

Good call katuuz.

Open your NEStopia INI file and change this line:

preferences start in fullscreen : no

to

preferences start in fullscreen : yes

Save and exit.

If you updated NEStopia last month, I suggest you do the same.

yes, thats it, i can see the window for nestopia, but then kicks right back to gameex.

I'll try the full screen trick too.

i switched the emulator to run in full screen, problem solved!!!
