Hi there,

I have a question. Thanks for helping me out. I have around 20 tables in pinballx of which 4 don't show the table media (Indiana jones Terminator 2, The Getaway and Pinbot). Instead the default Pinballx PF and BG videos are played and table logo is not shown (table name in text is shown instead).

In game manager I've added the table (missing tables detection is on), I upload the wheel logo (it tells me media allready exitst because I retried a couple of times, I overwrite the old file), I see the logo in the gamelistmanager. If I turn to a next list (say future pinball) it ask me to save, I click save, I'm in the futurepinball list and head back to the visual pinball list and the wheel logo is gone.

I've added PF and BG video's through PBX recorder. Tables that don't show the logo also don't show the video's. Others work fine.

Hope someone can help me! Thanks a lot!

For those of us that may be helping via smartphone, it is actually better to attach your pinballx.ini and log.txt files.

Your version of PinballX shows as 3.13 and we are on v3.29 so you will likely need to upgrade and resubmit both files. You will also want to submit the xml file for the system where the tables are not displaying media.

Colon for Indiana Jones would explain for that file, seeing the xml will help when dealing with the issue for the others. Even if no colon or other "operating system-used" punctuation, I have come across issues where an additional space is in the file or ROM name and removing the extra space fixed the issue. Ensuring that the media are named the same as the ROM or Game name fixes this kind of issue.

Hi Draco1962 and Tom Speirs,

Thanks a lot. Yes, it is indeed the ':' in the description tag, I've deleted it in the XML file and the table is now shown correctly.

But not sure why
No Fear: Dangerous Sports (Williams 1995)
works correctly but
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Williams 1991)
won't show media. But playing around with it made it work for me so I'm happy.

Good to know that I used the default names from the list behind the 'select' button in the gamelist manager, so maybe someone who manages this list might want to changes the description tags in that list?

In
The Machine: Bride of Pin·bot (Williams 1991)
next to the : all the characters between Pin and Bot also where a problem, and in this case I deleted them and also had to rename the Mediafiles (PF, BG, Wheel logo).

Below for reference purposes the (old unedited broken) XML file as an attachment.

(Don't know how to edit the topic title since this topic is [RESOLVED], can someone help me?)

To edit the title, just click and hold in the title field.

Glad you got it sorted. In some cases, there is enough of a unique title or game name before the for PinballX to determine a proper match.
