[RESOLVED] PIN2DMD not found error

Hello all, im new to pinballx and have a 3 display setup with no "real" dmd.  when I launch pinballx, it opens on the playfield, but freezes on the "pin2dmd not found" error.  After I close the error, everything works without problem(pf, dmd, and backglass).  I just need to have someone tell me how to make the program stop looking for a real dmd. I assume that is whats causing my error.

Install PinballX  again but this time ensure you don't select the option to install Pin2DMD support.

Is Pin2DMD intended for use with an actual DMD screen (like a PinDMD3), or a separate monitor being used as a DMD, or a virtual DMD image on the backglass monitor, or some combination?  I have a PinDMD3 that is working fine with VP, but I am also getting the Pin2DMD not found error.  Not clear if in the display settings if I need to tell it that I have a DMD display and give it a monitor number.

Pin2DMD is an actual DMD screen but it is a separate product to PinDMD3. If you are getting Pin2DMD not found error in PinballX then you selected the option to install it when installing PinballX and you should install again with the option deselected.

But I have an actual DMD screen, a PinDMD 3.  So do I need to go change the .dll or install the 32 bit version, or ?

PinDMD3 is supported out of the box in PinballX. However you overwrote that support when you selected to install Pin2DMD support in the PinballX setup. Like I said just install again and that's it.

Doh!  Thank you!  Problem fixed.  Of course now the Game Manager isn't finding any image content for my tables, where it was a day or so ago.  But I'll keep stumbling thru getting this all setup...  :)
