Pablo Smiraglia Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 I've been trying 4k videos since 2.62. last try was with 2.68 and, after scrolling a few tables, pbx just hangs. i have updated lav filters to latest available version. 2k videos have been working great since 2.62. 1. is there an optimal encoding config for ffpmeg i should use with pbxrecorder? 2. any nvidia setting specific to pbx i should use? i7/16GB/SSD/GTX1070/intel4600 pf4k/bg720p/top720p/pimdmd3 dof log.txt PinballX.ini
Tom Speirs Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 It should just work. Ive had my cab running for days with all videos upscaled to 4k in screensaver mode. No issues. I don't actually have 4k output on the cab though, Is there anything in particular you are doing to make it crash? It could be a corrupt image. Is 2.68 stable with 2k videos for you?
Tom Speirs Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 The latest release is for people like you who. Any help you could provide troubleshooting would be great. I just have no issues I can duplicate here. PS: That error is occurring loading an overlay or an underlay but I can see nothing wrong.
Tom Speirs Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 I wont have a real dmd to test until the end of the month. Maybe that is the issue or the DOF plugin. I don't think there are any major issues with the latest release and the whole point was high end video support. If you wanted to really help me out you could upload everything for me to test but again it should just work.

PinballX.zip yes, only 4k videos freshly created with pbxrecorder. 2 K videos work well (have worked well since 2.62). With 2k videos, the cab can run for days in attract mode. I'll try this version, but not before the end of the week as I'll be out of town.

Scrolling with 2k videos (30fps) is just fast and flawless (has been since 2.62). I run: 4k PF on 1070, 720p BG on 1070, 720p topper on Intel on board, and PIMDMDv3 on USB.

I was trying to say things have changed with the latest release so forget about what worked and didn't in previous releases. Its not relevant. Yes, videos load slower but they play better. Maybe its a cultural difference but I have not pissed you off have I?

I don't want to get yelled at by folks that created media that do not want to be shared (long, unrelated story). I can upload all my VPX media, DBs and startup scripts (you let me know what else). I can get you logs, just let me know which ones. right now I'm running 2K PF videos, as they run smooth, butI can switch to 4K easily in a couple of days when I get back home. BTW, this is for VP only, all my FP, FX2/3, Zaccaria and other emulators have 1080p videos only... thnaks.
Tom Speirs Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Its the videos that are important and testing with the latest PBX. I don't need too much else but please test the latest release first when you get a chance. The more you upload the better but I don't have anything private only the FTP. You could always create an archive and encrypt it with a password. If you do that I suggest splitting the archive so you will max out the FTP connection.

Pablo Smiraglia Posted April 7, 2018 Author Posted April 7, 2018 i cannot download 2.71 because of a security exception. i have though removed under and overlays and then pbx does not crash with 4k videos. having say that half the time the videos do not start and you get a black PF when scrolling.
