Hi all,

I'm continuing to tinker with the PinballX frontend on my work in progress pinball cabinet. I'm loving it so far! Thanks to Tom and all the community members that have made this possible.

I would like to play an ambient audio file in addition to the currently selected table's audio while browsing the installed tables. I see there's an "Ambient" folder in the "Media" folder, so I placed a WAV file in there, but it is only played for a brief second or so when I switch from one table selection to another one. I think I read somewhere in the forums here that it will only play when no audio file is available for the selected table.

I thought about running an external media player when PinballX is launched, but I don't know if there's an option in PinballX to shut down the player when a pinball table is launched, then to relaunch it again when you exit the table and return to PinballX.

Can anyone suggest a way to do this? Thanks!

Tommy

Look at option #2 in the folliwing:

You may be able to launch it via launch after using a batch or ahk file and kill the process via in launch before.

Thanks for the reply! I actually saw that one before posting, even looked at the utility, but didn't think about creating AHK files to launch/kill it. I will look into that since I'm thinking you would know if PinballX natively supported what I'm looking for. :)
