is there an FAQ on the bare basics to creating backgrounds and themes for your gameex? if i got anywhere at all, i barely was able to make one for an emulator i added, but couldn't make it for the start screen/mame/etc.

Take a look at my setup for PJ64. Just remember to change your emu paths to yoursetup.

More or less follow this same setup for the rest of your emu's.

When you make an image in Photoshop. Make sure to save it as a jpeg file. Then open you theme editor and choose background from the left. Pick which background you would like to change. Once you have either mame,start,emulator or whatever background you want to change. Choose the open option on the bottom left. Locate your new background and it should change. You can always hit me up on aim and I can try and walk you thru it.

There's no FAQ because it's self explanitory really. Edit out whatever background you want using whatever graphics program you have, i.e. photoshop or paint shop pro. Then make sure you have that image selected under the "Custom Background" field. If you want to edit the theme, you can use the theme editor but that only works with V2 themes & most of the themes are V1.
