Hi all,

just fired up jukebox project for first time in a while, working fine on V 6.28. Did an update now wont start up, gives the following error:

GameEx.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Process id=0x478(1144), thread id=0x4a0(1184)

click ok to terminate or cancel to debug.

Looks just like the error you get when .net framework isnt installed but it obviously is otherwise it wouldnt have worked in the first place!

Any help welcome.

Thanks

Actually, if anyone can let me have (or a link to) V 6.28 that would be cool.

Thanks

Well, I fixed it

Installed an older version, worked fine, did the live update - back to the error again. Manually downloaded latest version - worked ok - Apart from being SLOW took about 15 mins to index 3000 songs, on subsequent launches it takes about 2 mins, I tried it on my pc here which is much higher spec, took over 30 mins to index 15000 songs, I really could use V 6.28 if anyone has it (wonder why all revisions arnt on the site so people can revert if need be)

Hi, the update issue was a problem a few versions back, but I'm not too sure why the Jukebox is any slower than what it was in 6.28, nothing has changed in the Jukebox since then. You could try switching the jukebox mode to file tag mode or visa versa. Initially the tag mode will deffinitly take a long time, but unless you add new music it should be quicker subsequently. I do realise there is a problem with scanning when you have a lot of songs.

Interesting that the jukebox hasnt changed any, oh well. How does the indexing work, does it only re-index if it sees additional files? This is a concern as new cd's are bought weekly if not daily - havnt got the ripper wokring yet but will play with that later and post a new topic if I still cant get it to work.

Thanks

Hi, the jukebox scanning was changed a little in version 6.19, but this was meant to be an optimisation, and this was only where it checked to see if there new songs and not adding them.

If using the windows media player mode, it loads the data from the wmp library every time. If your adding new cd's this will be quicker in your case, but the new music needs to be added to WMP. The file tag method rescans your entire music collection every time a new song is added and gets the tags, and it rescans everything so this can easily take 30 minutes or more. I think what I will do is perhaps make it only scan for new music in the next release. I think that would make fix the issue.

I still dont think the version upgrade would affect this.

Your issues should be solved or at least much less of an issue, in the latest version just released. Go grab it.
