hi im having one hell of a time trying to configure mess to play my 5200 ,7800,and jaguar roms it seems that no matter what game i select it only plays one game no matter what i ve seen this question posted other where in the thread but saw no answer that worked anyone have any ideas??? and yes i have already deleted the config folder and also re-installed many time and still no luck also the command line switch ive been using is

mess.exe jaguar -cart "[rompath]\[romfile]" for the jaguar

messgui.exe a5200 -cart "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" -joy -now -nonewui for the 5200

messgui.exe a7800 -cart "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" -joy -now -nonewui for the 7800

any ideas these seem to be correct i dont know what im missing?? lol

The problem is in your INI configuration files for those emulators (located in /MESS/INI). Each of them have been configured to load a particular ROM (probably as a result of it being the first ROM that you loaded and played directly in MESS) regardless of the parameters that you are currently sending from the command line.

Just edit those text-based files and remove the line that is automatically loading those ROMs....forgot what its called, but it will be obvious. That should solve your problem.

Man that crummy mess of M.E.S.S. I would love to be able to play 5200 roms on it. But for some reason the renderer for that just plain sucks. I'm using another program. I think it was called a800win or something. I'm not at my emumachine right now.
