Multiple emulators, SNES + optimizations

Continuing the quest to perfect my arcade machine :)

Once I got MAME working nicely, am now turning to other emulators and teaks on my GameEx Arcade edition. Eventually it needs to be fool proof and kid friendly (i.e. less text, more pics and vids in menus). Current Qs:

1. The SNES system pack has RetroArch as an emulator. However, in the configuration of emulators on GameEx, there is no RetroArch emulator to choose from. Do I choose something else?

2. The menus are getting complicated. Is there a way to control/reorganize folder hierarchy in GameEx UI? Particularly the selection between emulators (if there is any way to do it Hyperspin-like it would be amazing. Choosing by pics is kid friendly!)

3. Is there a way to change the exit to desktop key from "esc" to something else?

4. For some reason, the game descriptions are off for most of the games (the popup window with the star rating). Is there a way to fix it or, even better, to disable it?

5. Do you know of anyone who has done an Apple II emulation on GameEx and has a "how to" page?

Sorry for the bombardment and TIA.

1. Not sure I follow, you mean the download? Or you can't find a configuration? RetroArch is easy to set up, it uses the standard command line (RetroArch.exe "[RomPath]\[RomFile]") and you can download it right from the Libretro BuildBot page.

There's a bit more to setup if you don't want to let RA figure out what core to use, but there are probably a hundred threads with how to set it up this way if you search the forum.

2. Play with the option near the top that says "change view", you'll find what you're looking for.

3. Yes, you can re-map hotkeys. It's in the GameEx configuration.

4. Yes, there is an option for this. I can't remember offhand what it's called, I think it's under either display options or inside the emulator. Do a search on the configuration for popup.

5. MESS can do it I think, but no on the help. At least I haven't seen a guide anywhere.

Bonus: can you please create separate topics in the future? It's hard to find someone who knows all 5 answers, and I guarantee you the good Intel you get here will get lost. Also you're less likely to get assistance if you have a ton of questions in one post, it's pretty overwhelming.

In addition to what Adultery said about separate topics, bumping your thread won't move along questions to your answers any faster. We are all hobbyists here, including the authors of GameEx. That said, you will get answers from us as we are able or from other members of the community as they are able.

Having one thread per question, providing your gameex.ini and log.txt files when submitting a thread to report a problem, these actions help speed responses.
