[RESOLVED] Exiting emulator always goes to desktop

Hey guys.  I'm using PinballX with Visual Pinball.  Launching games is fine, but when I exit the emulator and hope to go back to the PinballX launcher, I instead always go to desktop.  This is what my log says:

Hello dinki,

 

make sure that you use different key Settings for "Quit" (which will Exit PinballX) and "Exit Simulator" (which will just Exit Visual Pinball (for example).

Using the same key may lead to the issue you´ve discribed.

Easiest way is to leave the Setting for "Quit" empty. This should solve your Problem.

Thanks for the reply.  I tried this and it didn't work.

Oddly when I booted the machine up this afternoon the pinballx gui and playfield was on the back box monitor and when I tried it it did exit back to Pinball X.  I managed to get the display back in order (I think by rebooting), but now I'm crashing back to desktop when exiting the emulator.  I don't know what to make of this.

 

Can anyone tell me what to check?

I'm getting pretty desperate.  No one has encountered this before or can even give me a clue as to what to check?

On addition to the log file, can you provide your pinballx.ini file? Please attach it as opposed to pasting in your reply .

I found the problem after tinkering with it for quite a while.  I had to turn, and this is from memory, exclusive full screen mode off or something similar.

Im having this same issue right now. Started when I just added my controller and xpadder. If I unplug controller and just use keyboard it's fine, with controller and mapped with xpadder it crashes to desktop. Pinball FX2 tables do not crash to desktop, but VP and FP do.

I just want to make sure this isn't the same issue you are reporting here...

If not the same as the other issue, then please attach copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files. We need these each time you report an error. Thanks.

nope different issue it seems. the other issue is just certain tables that I have since disabled. My issue now is exactly whats happening to the OP of this thread. Exiting an emulator,  also exits pinballX. My only change was adding xpadder and a USB controller into the mix and its not playing nicely.  I  have since disabled xpadder and unplugged my controls but I will try again so I can get the log.txt. its identical to the OPS log on here. I get the same boolean errors

FIXED- I had the exact same issue and under the display settings changing the windows full screen exclusive setting solved it.
