settings.exe has stopped working

Trying to help out an internet user.. 

All the .exe are returning the same error. This is the latest download version - new install directory. 

Are there any dependencies that I might need to install/resinstall.

Any debug/logs I can see?

Sounds like .net framework is not installed.

It is .. I ran the .net (4) full installer and it said to repair or remove. I chose the repair option. Is it somewhat safe to uninstall/reinstall .net? It warned that it may break already existing programs.

You need 2/3.5 for PinballX not 4.

No such luck. Tried uninstalling and clean out and reinstall 1.1 3.5 and 4.0 cleanup shows them all being installed.

 

Is there any debug version of setup.exe or pinballx that I can run to diagnose what is missing/corrupt/screwed up on this pc?

What OS and is it a new install? In the past, I have had to perform a clean install of the OS to remedy a similar issue. I have also seen where someone encountered similar issues becuase they were using an "nLite" version of the OS which was lacking some key files. If you "google" the faulting module and version and the exception codes, you will find that there are way too many to nail it down to just one cause, hence the clean install of the OS.

Win 7 Premium - I doubt he has the CD to reinstall from - nor the ability to accomplish such a task. I am working it remove via teamviewer.
