Hi All, I'm new to this forum and I've been working at setting up my first machine with PinballX and have been having problems getting backglass videos to display on my second display.  My system uses a single Radeon 6950 card with the following outputs:

1) Active Mini-display to HDMI dongle -> TV 1 Main Display Field 1920 x 1080

2) Active Mini-display to HDMI dongle -> TV 2 Backglass Display 1920 x 1080

3) HDMI -> TV 3 DMD display 1360 x 768 (shifted down by 150 pixels to allow B2S segment displays like Funhouse and Whirlwind to fit properly

(I needed the active dongles because the 6950 will not drive three HDMI without the active dongles, (it can drive 2 passive Mini-Display port to HDMI cables but not 3))

Visual Pinball drives all three TV's fine but PinballX doesn't.  PinballX will put the Main Playfield video and DMD correctly but no matter what I do I cannot force it to put the Backglass video on display 2.  Thus far in the settings wizard I've tried:

1) Setting Back-glass to display 2 - This puts the backglass on display 3 behind/under the DMD video

2) Setting the Backglass to Display 3 - This puts the backglass under the playfield video.  I can tell this because when I quite out of PinballX, the Backglass is very briefly shown there until it closes itself.

3) Set the Backglass to Display 3 and set the X value to 1920 trying to force the backglass to slide onto monitor 2.  This slides the backglass completely off monitor 1 but not onto monitor 2.  I can tell this by partially sliding it off 1 (x=500) and not seeing it on 2.

4) Set Backglass to Display 4 - Nothing show up on any of my screens

5) Switching HDMI cables for DMD and Backglass (ie DMD now in active dongle) still no backglass on monitor 2

I can make the B2S Backglasses show in PinballX if I choose that option but they are very slow to load so I am interested in getting the videos to work in hopes that they load quickly like the DMD videos do.

I've looked through this forum and haven't seen a solution to this, any ideas?

Can you provide us copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files?  Click on the PinballX How to ask for help link in my signature for instructions on how to locate the files and submit them for us to review.

Also, are you running Gaming Evolved by Raptr along with Radeon Catalyst?  If so,  you will want to disable or remove when launching PinballX. Read about it here.

Thanks Draco1962, for taking the time to reply!

I don't have Gaming Evolved by Raptr in my list of programs so I don't think that I am using it.

Here is the log file:

Of interest is that the monitor number scheme in Windows is different than the monitor numbering system for Catalyst.

Windows says Main playfield = 1, BG = 2, DMD = 3

Catalyst says DMD=1, BG=2, Main Playfield = 3

Also- it doesn't matter what monitor I assign to be the Main play field in the settings wizard (ie display 5 for example which doesn't exist in my system), it still puts the playfield table video on screen 1.

Thanks in advance for looking at this

There was enough funky stuff going on with my system (zombie dlls etc) that I figured the problem might be with Windows so I did a fresh reinstallation of Windows 7.  I can now position the backglass on the correct screen so that fixed the problem.  I hope this can help someone else out who ends up with this issue.
