Hi guys I have everything working in both VP and FX2 with one exception, I cant seem to get the Animated backglasses to work once the tables start in FX2 just the static ones. Now in Pinball X I only have the Videos in the Video Tables folders, I do have static images inside of the STEAM/PINBALL FX2 folder. I tried to remove those but I just get a black screen on my backglass, Do I need to change something in my XML? Or di I need to launch the Kill.AHK  in a download I saw? Thanks guys, I'm realitivly new at all this.

Let's take a look at your pinballx.ini and log.txt files in addition to your pinball fx2.xml.

Click on the PinballX How to ask for help link in my signature for instructions on how to locate and submit the files for us to review.

Also, tell us what screen resolution you are running in-game.

I've found that PinballX must be running the same resolution as FX2 or you will lose your video backglass.

I'm having a the same issue. Basically I'm not sure how to get PinballX to display the video backglass files instead of the static ones that Pinball FX2 displays. If you put any type of file that isn't a picture file (.jpg, .png, etc.) in the Steam folder it won't display it. I think Marcdaddy is having the same problem.

Fx2 can only do statics. For animated you need to use pinballx to load the back glasses. Put the video files in the backglass directory for pinball fx2 media (within pinballx/media/pinballfx2/back glasses) and disable pinballfx2 from loading backglass images itself

One of the most common issues for videos not displaying for DMD,  tables or backglasses is incorrect naming of the videos.

If you have the best match global setting disabled, it is imperative that the names of these files exactly matches the file name or display name in the .xml.

I am sure that everyone in this thread is aware of this by now, but thought I'd throw it out here for the new users reading the thread.

The Videos play Properly in the Menus of PINBALL X, just when I start the tables does it go back to the Static images that I have inside of FX2 Steam folders. Ive removed the pictures in the STEAM folder but I just get a black screen. The Screen resolutions match up on the backglasses. Do I need to enable the BAT file that ive seen listed here in PINBALL X config settings?

Sorry I missed that post. First, I suggest modifying the section in the integrated Pinball FX2 section as follows:

[PinballFX2]
Enabled=True
WorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
Executable=Steam.exe
Parameters=-applaunch 226980 "[TABLEFILE]"
WaitFor=-1

Following is a checklist of things you need to go through:

- Change the command line. It should have "" surrounding [TABLEFILE].

- You keep mentioning putting the files in the STEAM folder. That won't do.  They should reside in the \PinballX\Media\Pinball FX2\Backglass Videos folder.

- The videos must be named the same as either the Game Name or Description fields of the Pinball FX2.xml file.

- As @Carny_Priest mentioned, you will need to make sure that your in-game display settings in Pinball FX2 match those of PinballX, so compare your display settings. You will have to load Pinball FX2 outside of PinballX in order to access the display settings. I am assuming that you have already enabled the Cabinet Mode feature in Pinball FX2.

There's a setting within pinballfx2 itself for backglass display. If there are no images it will give you a blank screen. In your pinballfx2 cabinet settings, disable show backglass. I suspect that your pinballfx2 backglass window is displaying over your pinballx backglass video

Ok I'm pretty stumped, I tried all the sugggestions and I still cant get the animated backglasses to stay on the screen once the game starts. Loads in the menu, stops when table starts, fires back up again in the menu when the table is ended. Display setting s match.

Yes, in the cabinet settings I unchecked the box for BACKGLASS. I then reloaded Pinball X and I get a black screen on my backglass once the table starts. In the Menus I'm getting the working Backglass Videos before I start the tables and after.

Ok. Now double check that Pinballx doesn't have "hide backglass" checked for the tables in pinballfx games list?

OK I got home from work and fired up my cabinet, double checked everything buy now I have a new problem that ive never had before. When I launch any table FX2 table from Pinball X instead of launching the table its launching FX2 and going to the Menu like I started it in STEAM? Ive never seen this before, Any thoughts on how to get it back. I have it setup exactly like you stated in Pinball X.

Might be an ad or message about the new Alien tables that were released recently? Try to run Pinball FX2 outside of PinballX and clear any of these in-game messages.

Also, reboot tends to fix strange occurrences.

I did the reboot and launched outside of Pinball X and didn't see any ADs or anything. I'm playing in OFFLINE mode FYI, was working fine all weekend just started today, In my logfile its says that I'm starting say PlantsVsZombie but it will load the Microsoft FX2 startup screen, show the game menu, then it selects South Park. Strange indeed.

I did a Re Install of both Pinball X and Steam, Still getting the same issues with FX2. I guess its not that big of deal, until Force Feedback gets implemented in FX2 I don't play the tables that much.

I have just followed the steps above and all mine work perfect - had to rename the files of course, turn off the backglass in PBFX2 Cab settings, but now it looks much better :)

Thanks too all involved
