I'm having trouble with launching the Football table from PinballX. I own the Zen version (the non-team branded one) and the file is called Football.pxp but when I try to launch it from PinballX it goes into FX2's menu screen where the first option is to choose the team and the second option is to launch the game. This means I have to connect a mouse to be able to launch it. Every other table is working fine. Any ideas on how to launch directly into the game?

If you are using the integrated support for the non-Steam version this may be the case. You should probably provide us with a copy of your pinballx.ini, log.txt, and pinball fx2.xml files so we can review these.

Hey ampeg,I´m not sure if this will solve your Problem, but maybe you try this values in your PinballX.ini:

[PinballFX2]
Enabled=True
WorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
Executable=Steam.exe
Parameters=-applaunch 226980 "[TABLEFILE]"
Process=Pinball FX2
WaitFor=-1

These are my Settings and everything is working fine. Try to place the parameter [TABLEFILE] in brackets: "[TABLEFILE]".

Tried to change everything according to your settings but the problem remains, it just launches FX2 and the table selection screen. Maybe I'll try to buy one of the team branded versions and see if it is possible to launch those.

I purchased all of the Steam Football tables and do not have this issue. Just be sure to edit your Pinball FX2.xml file with the additions enabled and you should be good.

Just another try. Here you see my settings regarding the PBFX2.xml (extract for Football):

You may forget about the setting "grid" due to the fact that this value has been used in times when "NukeLauncher" was necessary to adress specific tables.

But since you use the parameter "-applaunch 226980 ..." you don´t need "grid".

 

Maybe the problem is indeed that Steam/PinballX is confused, because all Football table names start with "Football" (e.g. "Football_Roma").

And Football-Zen is also directly starting? Or just all other Football Tables?

Ahh, yes, that might be a good solution: as Draco said try to add the ending. Maybe Steam/PinballX will get rid of confusion if you use:

I'll upload a copy of my .xml when I get home tonight. I do not recall how I have it formatted for the football tables, but I believe it is by individual table.

I was having the same problem as ampeg but adding .pxp on the end of Football in the <game name> tag fixed the problem, I now launch directly into the game as expected. Now my wheel image isn't loading nor my playfield video but oddly my backglass video is.

Edit: Wheel Image and Table video now loading fine... had a mix-match of game name and description for my file names. All good :) Thanks for the help and thanks for posting the issue in the first place ampeg!

I bought the Barcelona-branded table and that works flawlessly. I haven't tried starting the Zen table after I set the Barcelona one up so I don't know if that works now, but at least I have one football table up and running!
