Sorry for the bother but i just couldnt cut it for my last question.

Does anyone know of a vertical mame game that requires 3 buttons for play-just not the standard 2 for fire and bomb.

I would love to hear from anyone who has ever played a vert game that has required 3 buttons for play.

I am up to the control panels for my current cocktail cab and i need to make a decision if to install 2 or 3 buttons per player as i have installed the monitor for vertical use only.

All help and answers is greatly appreciated.

I just ran some macros on MAME's 0.105 listinfo.dat XML file (in the MAME installation folder).

Attached is the list of vertical games with a joystick and declared as using three or more buttons.

There are 211 entries! Whether you are going to play any of them, though, only you can decide...

There are probably some false positives in the list. I noticed Galaga88 is in there. MAME has LCTRL / LALT / SPACE as buttons 1,2,3, but Galaga88 only has one fire button? Looking at the KLOV entry http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=&game_id=7883 you can see the cabinet has both left and right buttons probably wired to be the same fire button. This accounts for LCTRL & LALT in MAME (which do indeed both work as a fire button). SPACE doesn't seem to do anything though???

Anyway, at least it's narrowing things down!...

Fantastic,

I had already decided to install 3 buttons each side-but with your excellent info it has reassured me that i am doing the right thing.

Will post photos of completed cab when finished(maybe a couple of weeks)
