Hi Tom, you mentioned in the 2.12 release announcement that you'd added a "pinball arcade setting to set the delay between down key presses selecting the game". But I don't see this setting anywhere, or a document/post that describes it?

I'm not even sure if this will help. I'm trying to set up Pinball Arcade for the first time, and having problems with game selection. It'll frequently skip past the correct game in the list so I end up launching the wrong game. Even if I barely tap a key on the keyboard sometimes PBA will skip two games).

Your post referenced the DX11 version, though I'm running the DX9 version in this case so I'm not sure if the problem you're fixing is related to the problem I'm having.

Please provide copies of your pinballx.ini, log.txt, and Pinball Arcade.xml files. Please click on the PinballX How to ask for help link in my signature for instructions on where to find these files and how to submit them for us to review.

You may need to click on the More Reply Options button on the lower right when you reply and attach a copy of your Pinball Arcade.xml file as the forum masks will not handle the xml file properly sometimes. Thanks!

Usually, if an item is being skipped in Pinball Arcade, it is because the numbering of the tables in the xml is off. Keep in mind that some tables, such as The Addams Family as a good example, appear in the number 1 slot in Pinball Arcade as Addams Family.

Also, the DX9 tables should run fine. The enhancements were to help accomodate those running the Camera Mod and using the DX11 exe for Pinball Arcade as part of that mod.

I'll attach the inis, but is the new setting in 2.12 documented anywhere?

Although I'm sure it's not a numbering issue. The table that it chooses changes intermittently - it seems like it's "skipping over" items in the list - about 25% of the time one keystroke counts as 2. So if I launch a table configured at position #5, sometimes it selects the 5th, sometimes the 6th, sometimes the 7th.

I see other people complaining about the same thing and it sounds like what the new feature was supposed to be for. So wanted to try it.

In general it'd be good if the new setting was documented.

No real need to document it. Just fire up the Setup Wizard and select the setting in the Pinball Arcade section. You may have to play with it a bit to get the desired delay. I use the default setting with no issues and I don't have the latest kit to run it.

Then I may have a stupid question - is the setup wizard the one by Ben Baker? Is it supposed to be installed/updated with the PinballX installer? Because the one I have is dated Aug 21 2014 (so I wasn't surprised it doesn't have the new setting).

Um, you can't necessarily go by that date. You may need to redownload and install PinballX over the top of your current install then. This is what your PinballX Setup Wizard should look like:

And here is what the settings look like in my pinballx.ini:
