mamemaster
Ok so I cleared it back to defaults and I can't figure how to launch it via pinballx. Should I see pinball arcade as an option to launch w the pinball tables? So confused. Thanks!!!
Draco1962
You should just see your tables for Pinball Arcade. Not knowing what tables you have, you will probably need to open the Pinball Arcade list via Game List Manager and disable whatever tables you do not have showing within the list. Draco1962
You should have a pinball arcade.xml file in the database folder. If not, I will zip a copy of mine and attach it in reply here when I can get to my PC.

Draco1962
Try changing your parameters for Pinball Arcade to the following:[PinballArcade]Enabled=TrueWorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamExecutable=steam.exeParameters=-applaunch 238260 [TABLEFILEWOEXT]WaitFor=12Process=PinballArcade.exe
mamemaster
Ok- so unfortunately the defaults don't help. Ultimately - Steam86 does not exist on my WinXP set up. ultimately it launches and immediately dumps out and closes before Steam can be launched. I know I'm so close- but may have to cry uncle soon. My photos are as follows:PBA List- Games Manager list notes that I only have TOTAN highlighted in Games ManagerRECOMMENDED SETTINGS- these are the default settings recommendedRESULTS/RECOMMENDED- this is the path error I get when I use default settings.MY SETTINGS- are what I used and it launched PBA but only the program and not the game itself. It also didn't rotate. This is the closest I got.Photos 1, 2 and 3- show what happens when I use default settings. You can see the games list, it "loads" then immediately crashes.Any last thoughts? - again appreciate all the advice here! I'm sure there's something super obvious I I'm not seeing.
Draco1962
If you are running this on XP (likely 32-bit version) then you will have to ammend the settings to read:[PinballArcade]Enabled=TrueWorkingPath=C:\Program Files\SteamExecutable=steam.exeParameters=-applaunch 238260 [TABLEFILEWOEXT]WaitFor=12Process=PinballArcade.exe

rockyrocket
Sorry in advance to the OP if this has been stated before (only skimmed through), but have you gone through the initial screen setup via the PBA config app outside of pinballX with the screen already rotated in the windows screen settings?.This will set Pinball arcades orientation and res to portrait. On a different note how long has PinballX done this wizardry?.I used to really hate Pinballarcades camera view to such an extent that I uninstalled it, but with the Camera mod that changed, I now see just how good it really plays!.The mod will not rotate your screen but it will auto start Pinball arcade and works fine through Pinballx as long as you are happy to miss out on auto loading individual tables but honestly thats no big deal.A great setup tutorial can be found Here
mamemaster
I guess my issue is I understood the Pinx loader to now rotate the screen. See my first post.Per the note posted in the forum-- Official integrated Pinball Arcade support. Will rotate screen and set portrait mode automatically. (Note: you should configure Pinball Arcade first.I guess my issue is I understood the Pinx loader to now rotate the screen. See my first post. Are you saying I need to add rotation software then Pinx will just launch it using that software? Not sure the need to use Pinx then? Draco1962
Unfortunately he is running Win XP which is not compatible with the Camera Mod (requires DX11). To configure my display, I used the PBA Configuration Utility and set my display to 1080x1920. No other configuration to do to have the display rotate with the integrated PBA support. Tom Speirs
Just wanted to say that I hate to say it but I just don't have the time to test PinballX or GameEx on windows XP any more. It just takes too much effort for nearly a two decade old peice of software. Its not completely unsupported but it is getting to there.
rockyrocket
so you guys totaly ninja`ed the post I was about to make...Sorry I think my last comment may of muddied the waters a bit (possibly boxingday is not the uptimum time to post), what I am suggesting is that if you wish to use the built in rotation function of pinballx you first need to set Pinballarcades internal settings to portrait. To do this you need to firstly rotate your primary screen to portrait (1080 x 1920 maybe) via the windows settings, then run the config app.I am not sure how tom is rotating the main display but know from my first pincab that not all methods work in XP32, so as a test would maybe Alt/Tab out just to test that my main screen was not in landscape after launching Pinballarcade?.I do though suggest that the camera mod transforms the experiance from aN overgrown tablet app into a full blown pincab one with a working backglass and resizable and movable DMD.Forgot abut the WinXP and DX11 limit, but do highly recommend the upgrade to atleast win7. and then the free camera mod. Draco1962
It is easy to miss making first the display changes that are needed within the Pinball Arcade Configuration Utility. I know that I had made that misstep initially. I wish that PBA would mature to the point of PB FX2 and start supporting more cabinet features. The PB FX2 DMD support was a no-brainer to setup.
