Hi

I use game ex last version. I use also steam in game ex. When start gameex (at first time) also start steam and auto login but the display Remains on steam and not gameex... I have to do alt Tab. I used - silent option in steam but nothing happens.

Can you try modifying the following in your gameex.ini please? Change it to LaunchOnStart=D:\Emulators\Steam\Steam.exe -silent LaunchOnStartNoWait= Please post an updated log,txt and gameex.ini once

Apparently not mad enough to google the forums a bit. ;) (Sorry, a little light humor there)

Check this thread to see if it helps at all with the Steam focus issues. Long story short, please verify that this part checks out

  • Verify that the problematic games run GameOverlayUI.exe when they're launched (this is the ingame overlay typically accessed with the tab key). Most Steam games do, but there are a handful that don't. I think you also need to enable this in your Steam settings (Steam > Settings > In-Game > Enable Steam Community In Game). If the game doesn't launch the overlay process it will need a custom config. The configs are stored in media\steam\configs in your GameEx directory and are created when you launch the game. You will need to set the overidewaitprocess setting to something else, most likely to the game executable itself.


If you have the Steam Overlay enabled, this part of your settings also caught my eye:

You might have a play at moving Steam into the LaunchOnStart command, rather than the LaunchOnStartNoWait.

If none of this helps, how critical is it that Steam starts at the same time as GameEx? I generally just have Steam start with Windows, and I've never had any problems with Steam in GameEx. The Steam client is pretty light weight, so it's definitely something to consider. Just a thought.

This sounds like a problem with a game wrapper (or lack thereof). Some games utilize a launcher, or Java, or some other executable that obfuscates the actual game executable from GameEx. Thus when the launcher (or whatever) closes, GameEx assumes the game has been closed and returns to GameEx. This thread has a ton of information on Steam Wrappers.

Also FWIW, it might be helpful to post an updated log file during an instance in which a Steam game is exiting early as it might provide further indication as to what's going on with your setup. :)

i read something about wrapper but for me it s too complicate.. do i have to download or create a wrapper for any game i install? too long... ins't there an alternative solution considering that the game exit from game ex before start? thanks...

the forum about wrapper was made in 2012 .. in 3 years i suppose in gameex / steam there have been better performance...
