stephenp1983
Since my other topic fell off the first page while I was at the lake, and had a variety of questions I thought I'd make a new one. I'm trying to figure out how to show the mame clones as well and not just hte regular games. I saw in the configuration where to add clones, but that was only for advanced mame, not mame32. Is there a way to do it with mame32?
emphatic
You're confusing AdvanceMAME with "Advanced MAME configuration".AdvanceMAME is a port of MAME as you know, "Advanced MAME configuration" is just a setup page for additional settings in your MAME/MAME32/MAME32+/AdvanceMAME .ini-file.If some of your clones aren't showing up, you might need to edit the "Game filters" (page 2 in Advanced MAME configuration). Mine is currently set to "Hispanic;french;german" because none of those clones is interesting to me.Good luck!Emph

Like I said in my other posted I have 6027 games in mame32 but in gameex only 3400 something. When I get off of work I will try and see if I can chnage some of the filter options like you suggested. Thanks for the info, I'll post back with the results.

hansolo77
Is there a tool that lists what games your missing?
stephenp1983
I really have no idea how to check.> I just know that mame32 list 6027 available games and gameex now list 5050. I still have checked not to display non working games so that might be the case.
hansolo77
I have a similar situation but everything is set to show. I disabled the filters and have it set to show all, even non working. I got 13gb of them, Mame32+ shows 6200 in the lower right corner, while GameEx shows only 2692 on the "All MAME Games" option.
stephenp1983
I think i know what your problem is. After you changed the settings did you update your mame list. I just figured out you had to do that in order for it to make any changes. Maybe you;ve done this I dunno. Also how many games does mame 32 say you have in avaible and in all games cause mine is only 6027. What version of mame 32 are you using. I think I'm using .105 v3 with the 106 romset
hansolo77
I'm using MAME Plus! 0.106u1 from http://mameplus.emu-france.com/I'm not completely familiar with mame yet, but if I'm reading the screen right, the lower right hand corner says 6200 games. stephenp1983
Did you try and update the list in game ex? or had you already done that.
Ricci
Did you try and update the list in game ex? or had you already done that. You do have to update the list, and set your clones in order for all of the games to be seen.
TalkingBull
Is there a way to display what type of clone is in the list? Right now, for instance; I have clones on and some games may have up to 10-15 clones. they all have the same name. I would like it better if it was somehting like:GalagaGalaga Version 2Galaga HackSomething like that would be better than:GalagaGalagaGalaga

Have you done it by type yet?? (Korean/Japan etc?)
hansolo77
I have updated my GameEx list and it added about 300 more when I unchecked the option to use filters. As for you guys wanting to the different names, make sure you set the option "No Bracketed Text [NO]". This will show all the information.I found a site on the internet (won't say where) with a bunch of games on it, and discovered I was missing a bunch of them. So another problem/solution for me was that I didn't have them all. This may be the case for you other guys too. Also, I found a check box in Mame32+ that limits my available games to just what I have. Under View->Custom Filters... There was a box for filtering Unavailable. I checked it, and it dropped my list of games to 5719. So I didn't have 6200 like originaly thought.

On my last rom update, I think I only have 5300 or so, and wondered if a new version had been released.
stephenp1983
so is the 5719 under available games or what? Under mame32 under available I have 6027, but it still list some games that aren't working. I can't remember how many I have working after I audit them. I am using .105 v3 as when I updated I had less available roms. Maybe its fixed now. Do you have any big bugs iwth v 106?
hansolo77
Not yet, but I've only just started my mame'ing. If you look, I posted a new topic just a couple days ago asking which emulator works best. So like I said, I don't know much in the way bugs and things. Seems to work pretty well so far.
