Hey Draco,

for sure I will help you! But if you go back to my very first posting, you will see that this was my first attemp to avoid the auto-navigation (see option 2). This resulted in loosing focus on Pinball FX2.

I will give it another try and come back to you as soon as I gave it another try. (I will upload the Information as well...)

I appreciate it, make sure that it is without any plugins or anything else in the launch before or after. Going for the clean data! Thanks!

PinballX.iniPinballFX2-Custom.xmllog.txt

Hey Draco,

please find attached the requested files (PinballX.ini, log.txt, PinballFX2-Custom.xml). I did everything like I did some days ago... and ended in the same results. I will try to explain in detail:

1. I did all your mentioned changes/settings:

- I´ve disabled the Pinball FX2 System

- I´ve created a new "others" System

- I´ve used my PinballFX2.xml, copied it to the correct database folder and renamed it accordingly

2. I´ve started PinballX - all Tables are in the main folder

3. I´ve chosen Marvel´s Avengers and started it

4. The Table was loading incl. loading screen

5. Then PinballX lost focus on Steam/Pinball FX2 and jumped back to PinballX menu

6. I was able to navigate normally in PinballX

7. I saw in the Task Manager of Win7 that Pinball FX2 was running

8. When I switched to Pinball FX2 via "ALT"+"Tab" I saw that the Intro/Attract Mode was still running (so no interupt like with the PinballY "Pinball FX2" System)

9. I realized that at this time my PinballX-Key Settings didn´t work anymore. The system has switched to the normal Pinball FX2 settings: when I tried to exit the system, Pinball FX2 showed me their menu and I have had to close Pinball FX2 manually. When I did this I ended up on my desktop. There was no re-activation of PinballX.

(That´s the reason why I entered a "launch before" last time (not today!). I launched a new XPadder Profile that started right before Pinball FX2-custom. With this I was able to use my commen PinballX key settings. But after leaving a table, Pinball FX2 was still running in the background and I wasn´t able to start another table because steam was complaining that there´s already a instance of the programm running. That was the reason why I also included the launch after with my taskkill script.

...but nevertheless: with "other"-system Pinball FX2 is not starting properbly.)

I think this happens due to the fact that there is no varibale "Progress to monitor: Pinball FX2.exe" set like it is in the "Pinball FX2"-system. And I think that´s the reason why PinballX is loosing focus to Pinball FX2. But we see with this attemp that if there is no "auto-navigation" the Pinball FX2 intro/attract mode won´t be canceled - even if it´s just in the background running.

Hopefully I explained my process steps detailed enough that it is understandable.

I was finally able to recreate the error you encounter with it selecting Captain America automatically! First, I verified that Steam was not preloaded in the task tray. On a lark, I went into the Settings for the integrated Pinball FX2 setup and set the Wait for time to 39 seconds. I then loaded The Avengers table and, by the time the table loaded, it was selecting the Captain America pinball.

I exited the game back to PinballX, and confirmed Steam was still loaded in the task tray. I then loaded the table again. The heroes landing page displayed and it occured again.

I then exited PinballX, exited Steam from the task tray. I went back to settings and reverted the Wait for time to 11 seconds. Started PinballX, loaded The Avengers table, and back to normal (heroes landing page, table flyover video, no preselection until I hit the select key on my keypad and then flipper to select pinball for the hero).

So while this does not solve your problem, it does prove it is reproducible!

Ok, sounds great. To have a reproduceable issue is a first step to get rid of this in furure! :-)

Hi,

Here is a patch of PinballX.exe to try. It seems all that is required is to stop the keys sending. Please try the attached and set the wait for keys to send to -1. This will stop the keys sending but PinballX will still check for and monitor the process for exit starting after 11 seconds.

My post here is to address the recent support for command line options in PBFX 2 its not to address the particular issue in this topic. If there is a better topic to post in please move accordingly.
